Who is responsible for this “message”? We cannot rely on “The Man”, as they are too afraid of being “The Man”, media will never change….no one wants to watch TV and see people being responsible, paying their bills and being nice to each other and themselves. The majority of TV watchers want, as you rightly said, Eastenders or Corry. Who is responsible for delivering the message?

Completely agree and disagree – but would like to add that sometimes good things can come from bad situations and providing the choice is the most important thing.
By your own ‘overweight’ admission you have broken the mould that you can be fit and fat – that doesn’t mean you couldn’t be fitter..
Our path of social destruction is media driven, we are told by the media that it’s the bankers (fuckers) fault, but it was millions of individuals who maxed out the 10 advertised credit cards and then be told by advertising that you have the ability to declare bankruptcy have your dept written off!
Values – if the prime time choices are Eastenders(southern shouting) or Corry(northern shouting), strictly or xfactor and that you are some sort of freak to change to Eden or history to actually use the media to learn something that isn’t the choice I’m looking for.
So to summarise, most people will do as they are told, subliminally or not and if the only thing they are told to do by media – be it Internet, TV, Radio or tactile is to blame/claim, shout, eat, be lazy and it can all be fixed with a workout DVD the message needs to change.
